Adopt A Porta-Potty

Fringe Theatre cheekily launched an Adopt a Porta-Potty campaign on April Fool’s…but we’re not sh*tting you! For the low, tax-deductible cost of $250 you can have an official Fringe porta-potty dedicated in your name for 11 days in August. Claim your throne or dedicate the seat to someone on your sh*t list.

Fundraising campaigns like these help us offset the hard costs of producing the largest, longest-running Fringe Theatre Festival in North America. We have 35 porta-potties across the Festival site. If all 35 potties are adopted at $250 each, we’ll cover the cost of the porta-potty and handwash station rental and the greywater removal for all 11 days of Festival.

Our Adopt-a-Porta Potty campaign is just one way we’re sustaining Fringe.  

We recently shared an update on our Sustain Fringe Campaign. Since launching the campaign a year ago, our mighty group of 34 monthly donors has grown to more than 530 strong. Thank you, Fringers. Thank you, Edmonton. Your help allows us to do what we do best.  

The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival returns this August 14 – 24. We won’t be bigger. We won’t be all that different. But we will deliver that spark, that something special, that indescribable feeling you’ve come to love over 44 years of fringing.  

Which is why Fringe needs you.  

Just 2% of Fringe Festival ticket buyers are monthly donors. We want more Fringers to join the movement. Every dollar donated, every sponsorship finalized, every ticket purchased, every beer drank, and yes, every porta-potty adopted counts. These aren’t just transactions. They’re declarations. A promise that you believe in making art for everyone (plus, you’ll get a charitable tax receipt!).
