Job Title: KidsFringe Designer & Facilitator
Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs – Internship Position supported by the Government of Canada. Open to applicants 30 years of age or younger.
Compensation: $18.50/hour, 35 hours/week for 6-week contract (TOTAL HOURS: 210)
Anticipated Start Dates: July 22, 2024
Anticipated End Date: August 31, 2024  
Reports to: Alyson Dicey (KidsFringe Director) 
Requirement: The successful candidate will be required to get a vulnerable sector, Police Information Check. 

Overview
Reporting to the KidsFringe Director, and supporting KidsFringe activities, the KidsFringe Coordinators will be:

Job Description:
This position will have two main components: 

  • Conceptualize and design an interactive, family-friendly installation suitable for outdoors at KidsFringe (Located in Light Horse Park);  
  • Present a design to the KidsFringe Director on an agreed upon deadline;  
  • Stay within a set budget; and  
  • Carry out the construction and/or set up of the installation with help from the KidsFringe Staff.   

AND 

  • Work closely with KidsFringe Director to plan activities prior to the Festival;    
  • Participate in training prior to the Festival;    
  • Assist in set up and strike of the KidsFringe outdoor site;   
  • Program and lead games/activities for large groups at scheduled times throughout the day;   
  • Facilitate stories, songs and games in the toddler area;   
  • Facilitate crafts;   
  • Assist with regular opening and closing site duties;   
  • Maintain a welcoming and tidy atmosphere for children, their adults and Volunteers; 
  • Collaborate with and support other Festival activities and departments as required; and 
  • Write and submit a Festival report at the end of the contract.   

Work Schedule:
KidsFringe is an outdoor mini-festival that runs August 15 – 25, 10:30 AM-5:30 PM. Schedule will be based on availability and collaboration with KidsFringe Director with some evening and weekend work required.
